When we started the WOLF Qanawat app, the driving force was to bring Arabic-speaking people in the MENA region together to create engaging entertainment, play games, form friendships and build communities. After just six years we are proud to have achieved this with a welcoming, fun and safe space, where users unite and operate as teams that support and champion each other.
The app was always designed to be a platform for team-based social entertainment, where groups of users come together to run and co-run Channels, allocating different roles to its members, to create shows and performances for all users to enjoy.
Currently, there are over 30,000 Channel Owners and 5,500 Channel Co-Owners, whose teams compete with each other to make the best in-app entertainment, giving an extraordinary volume of innovative shows and experiences for the whole app community’s pleasure.
The benefits of teamwork can be found in every facet of the app, often thanks to the large system of volunteers. Many users choose to volunteer as part of a community ecosystem of teams to support the production of app entertainment.
These teams of thousands of volunteers are an integral part of the success of the WOLF Qanawat app, since they also help with testing, community matters and user support. Many are compensated for their work and dedication with monthly credit and reputation rewards.
Channel Owners have volunteers as part of their teams to help create and manage the audio talent shows, live chat events and live audience engagement. These 43,000 admin users are there to support everything the Channel Owners and Channel Co-Owners do, giving valuable feedback where needed.
There are also just over 42,000 moderator users, who are tasked with ensuring the app guidelines are adhered to and check that chats and interactions remain respectful and aligned with the cultural beliefs and values of its users. In rare incidences of negative behaviour, these volunteers also act as in-app interveners to review, report and sometimes block certain users, to maintain a safe and welcoming app environment.
Other volunteer teams are essential to the development of new features and games and help the app development lifecycle by testing new tools, updates and audio features, before they are launched to app users. They also beta test new games, to make sure there are no glitches when they launch and that they live up to the expectation of the growing and discerning gaming community.
