As a tech company built around creating engaging community-led, online entertainment for its Arabic speaking users, WOLF’s recent pivot to focus on gaming in our WOLF Qanawat app is already reaping huge rewards.
Since the app’s successful launch of the Carrom game in summer 2025, we have joined forces with Edgegap – the innovative game server hosting and orchestration platform company – to ensure new games feature on the app as quickly as possible, while performing seamlessly to entertain our app users.
We’re currently focussing on expanding our gaming offering on the WOLF Qanawat app to create an ever-more-enticing hub, which is fun, interactive and a place for strong social connection, with Edgegap’s expertise supporting and streamlining this goal.
Working together since 2025, Edgegap has created a process for us that prioritises several key desires, including speed to market, meaning new games seamlessly integrate into the current build pipelines, to save time and further development investment. Avoiding huge server costs is also key to help maintain current app revenue and profitability, to allow for continued investment in gaming development.
We have been working closely with Edgegap on integrating the server hosting and orchestration, with the company’s simple yet in-depth documentation and dedicated Unity game engine plugin making the process incredibly smooth – the set up was easy, intuitive and up and running very quickly.
We are now able to deploy servers on-demand, just-in-time and cost effectively, for both our MENA-based app users as well as those around the world.
Just as importantly, essential game validation before deployment for users’ in-app enjoyment is now streamlined through Edgegap’s analytics. These ready-made tools can track servers hosted, retrieve logs and check dashboards, all of which is extremely useful to deliver our gaming strategy and measure its validity and success.
This critical new partnership to support our ambitious 2026 WOLF Qanawat gaming strategy works well also thanks to Edgegap’s quality of support. The availability of their developers to help provide best practices and insights, as well as great expertise on best technical approaches, has eased the integration and implementation of various parts of our app games.
As well as supporting our gaming proposition, the platform and its managed infrastructure solution has helped us with worry-free scaling, regionless hosting, user-based pricing at a universal price point, and automated multi-cloud management to ensure users enjoy games free from server disruptions.
Mathieu Duperré, Edgegap’s CEO, says: “We really enjoyed enhancing the WOLF Qanawat app, ensuring new games are added quickly, easily and without any technical issues down the line. We knew speed to market and a solution that fits naturally with the existing workflow was paramount, so we devised the perfect solution to avoid building from scratch. The result is a bespoke Edgegap platform that deploys game servers on the world’s first and largest, regionless edge network, at a single universal price.”
Gary Knight, WOLF’s CEO, says: “It’s an exciting time for our WOLF Qanawat Gaming Hub, as we add more enticing games, with social media links, opportunities for spectator involvement and monetised gamification mechanics. Much of this evolution is thanks to Edgegap’s innovative technology, helping us add games that provide fun, friendship and monetisation, all in one place. Watch this space for gaming updates in 2026 as we continue to use Edgegap’s expertise to give our users a more elevated in-app experience.”
